  • Station is located at the Log Cabin Wilderness Lodge, landowner is extremely sensitive to unannounced visitation, plan accordingly especially during peak tourist season during the summer.

  • Road access, turn off to the Log Cabin Wilderness Lodge is located at Mile 98.5 on the Tok Cut Off highway, this is approximately 28 miles south of Tok, AK/290 miles from Anchorage, AK.

    SERVICE DESCRIPTION:

    AEC station adoption station inspection, baler media swap, connect diffuser and mount timing antenna on cooler wall.

    UPON ARRIVAL:
    The station was in excellent condition with no sign of animal or human alteration except for a new paint job by John the owner of the lodge.  The station is no longer camouflage, but solid forest service brown.  The lock was in good condition and the station was functioning normally.

    ACTIONS TAKEN:
    AEC recorded station equipment and diagrammed the wiring.  Swapped the baler media.  Mounted the GPS timing antenna to the cooler wall.  Replaced the VIE connection to the diffuser hose and reconnected the diffuser.

    COMMENTS:

    The VSAT dish is still in place and functioning but a high speed fiber optic line is now on site at the wilderness lodge.  AEC may elect to change comms and will be working with the land owner.
