  • During 2018 service visit animal/bear damage was noted:

    • Door was open. Some material was littered outside. Q330 was hanging off of shelf. Vaisala wind pegs pecked off. Soil probe conduit was yanked across the ground after wires were severed. Otherwise, not too bad.

    Station offline for ~15 minutes, 19:50 for station service


    SERVICE DESCRIPTION:

    AON battery supplement. Upgrade CC firmware and collect Baler media. Check BGAN antenna cable. Check Vaisala.

    UPON ARRIVAL:  

    Station was in good condition with no wildlife damage.

    ACTIONS TAKEN: 


    Add 2 LiFePO4 batteries.
    BGAN cable replaced.

    CC firmware upgraded to 1.20.
    Baler media swap.

    Verified the station configuration.

    LiFeSO4 batteries: sn - 5724, bc - 5017941; sn - 5727, bc - 5017944


    COMMENTS:

    BGAN signal increased after swapping the cable.  Was connecting on narrow before the swap but increased to 68.2 signal strength after the swap.

    Door locked and taped prior to departure.
