    STATION/SENSOR DOWN TIME (UTC):

    2046-2120

    SERVICE DESCRIPTION:

Trouble shoot comms at Mendenhall and add batteries at the hut.

    UPON ARRIVAL:
The receive box at the Mendenhall subdivision was still behaving abnormally.  The station was otherwise operating normally.

    ACTIONS TAKEN:
I swapped the Linksys back in after the NWTel technician departed.  Doug Bloomquist looked at the station remotely while I headed back up to the hut.  Added 14 additional batteries, now a 0.18.0 system. Marred the bolts on the door to prevent unthreading from the outside.  Added chain to cover the hut door and additional locks to secure the chain in place on eye bolts and the handle.  The door was resealed.

Back at the Mendenhall receive station I contacted Doug and he was able to determine that the mac address at O30N and M31M were exactly the same on the Mikrotik.  This was causing the two stations to interfere with one another on the NWTel network.  Added the Mikrotik back in and reprogrammed the mac address.  The station began transmitting normally and M31M also began operating normally.

    EQUIPMENT INSTALLED:

    COMMENTS:

    SERVICE DESCRIPTION:

Trouble shoot comms outage and move timing GPS external to the hut.  Upgrade radio and router.

    UPON ARRIVAL:
The receive box at the Mendenhall subdivision was functioning normally with internet access but I couldn't access the baler through the Linksys or the radio. At the station the door tape was cut but the lock was in place.  The latch portion of the door handle mechanism was askew.  Upon opening it became clear that all of the AGM batteries had been stolen.

    ACTIONS TAKEN:
Tightened the loosened screws on the latch, added 4 AGM batteries, added new FGR2 radios and a mikrotik router.

Station is located below the repeater tower ~4 miles east of the Mendenhall subdivision off of the north side of the Alaska Highway approximately 350 meters. Potential sources of noise are the tower, sparse traffic on the access road and wind.

OCTANS bc 5007004, sn 34531002 used for BB sensor alignment. OCTANS indicated 0.030º for BB.
BB borehole top of casing to bottom of hole = 106", grade = 11", depth from TOC to grout plate = 102", depth to sand = 99", sensor top = 81.5". 10" lower plug (polyester insulation fill in a stuff sack) pushed to 61" (top); 10" middle plug (polyester insulation fill in a stuff sack) pushed to 14" (top); 10" upper plug (polyester insulation fill in a stuff sack) inserted at top. 2 liters of sand were used for base over the grout plug.  An additional 2.5 liters were used to bed the sensor in place.

Although comms were working from the site and Max Enders was able to access the baler status page remotely, data was not flowing.  Jennifer Eakins was not near a computer so was unable to trouble shoot from her end.  Confirmed POCs were set.  Construction work on the receive tower occurred during the 29 April visit.
